Australia’s first Android phone, the Kogan Agora, is only a few weeks away from its official release, and they’ve decided to keep us excited by sending us these spy shots of it in action. While the photos aren’t fantastic, we can expect a lot more of better quality in the near future, probably coinciding with CES.
There’s three more shots below the fold. All I can say is the end of January can’t come quick enough…

My only real gripe with this phone is the low-res screen. Given the wide range of productivity applications that will eventually come out on Android, and given that this phone is clearly a business-esque type of phone, a higher-res screen is a must imo.

What the? Wonder why they couldn’t fill the screen out to the edge. It’s like the 7″ eeepc all over again :) Think I might avoid this one, glad I didn’t preorder.

Don’t disagree about the screen being a bit disappointing but this probably also means it’s a lot cheaper right?

Anyone else notice how the H K & J keys change order in the first shot. Bad photoshop work or quickly put together sample?

I suspect that we’re actually looking at 2 different pre-production handsets; one is pictured with the screen off, has a small dimple to the right of the power LED, and has the letters in the sequence “HKJ”. The second one is pictured in the other 3 photos, with the screen on, with no dimple to the right of the power LED, and has the letters “HJK”.

You have to wonder if the blurry photos were taken with the not-so-great camera in another Agora.

silver border looks alright, but its abit disappointing they didn’t just put a larger screen in.

I hate to be synical, but I WAS excited about this phone. Looks pretty crappy now though. I agree with a lot of other people.. pretty terrible that the screen doesn’t fill out to the edges. Aside from it just making the screen smaller, design wise it just looks terrible. And that whole deal about the H,J,K being out of order on that one rendering… pretty poor.. how could they even release that? Seems like a mess to me. I think I’ll wait for a future android option. Oh well, like I said, I WAS excited.
