@ Lloyd: Agreed about reporters, they are scum, however the reason this is an issue is that Steve Jobs is considered to be the ships Captain at Apple, with control on most of the companies directions and image, making his health of significant importance to stakeholders of Apple, which there are many. It is known to almost everyone concerned with Apple that if Steve Jobs isn’t involved in Apple that many shareholders and consumers will pull out. It’s unfortunate that some much rides on one man as he’s not the one who designs anything any more, he just says yay or nay to funding new products within Apples research department.

These journalists are scum, Dan Lyons especially. Steve Jobs shouldn't have a provide any other information apart from that he is taking leave for 'personal reasons'. CNBC and any other media (including yourselves) should be ashamed of exploiting Steve's condition.
