Circuit City to Liquidate, Prices May Go Up to MSRP
After failing to find a buyer or a refinancing deal, Circuit City will be liquidating the merchandise in its 567 US locations. This is the end.
A source in the know informs us that no matter how exactly things move forward from here (it’s still murky as to the logistical details from a store level over the next few days), any sales will be gone with all prices moving back to MSRP, or well over market price in most cases. Oh, and watch those extended warranties, too. [MSNBC]

This article was 100% correct and on the money! I went to Circuit City today ( 01/17/09 ). Everything was selling at regular price with red tags on the items. There was a large amount of games and DVDs that were either old or obsolete… more xbox games than xbox 360 games for example ( Probable things the liquidators brought to the circuit city store to sell ) My girlfriend was upset because she was expecting some good deals but i advised her before hand that i would be surprised if there were good deals. SOOO to sum up my experience at circuit city BUY WHATEVER YOU ARE GETTING AT ANOTHER STORE OR ONLINE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE PAYING LESS and more importantly WHY SHOP AT CC WHEN ALL SALES ARE FINAL? paying a couple thousand for a hdtv ofcourse you get a extended plan but what if you get that tv home and it doesnt work from the start or is cracked etc…… cant bring it back to cc.
