Yesterday, Wall-E went on sale in Australia. If you haven’t already seen the film (and even if you have), do yourself a favour and go and pick up a copy today. It’s one of the greatest robot films ever made.
I heard these rumours last week, and was flat-out told that it wasn’t happening, but Current is reporting that NEC will be announcing this afternoon that they are pulling out of the consumer retail market in Australia, as well as closing their Sydney office and cutting staff. However, they will be keeping their business systems division.

Google really, really, really wants to kick Microsoft in the office application department, as Australian IT today is reporting that they’re looking to hire a heap of resellers to push Google Apps on Small and medium businesses in Australia. By April this year, resellers will be able to “sell, customise and support Google Apps Premier Edition for small-to-medium business and enterprise customers”. The plan has already been trialled by 50 partners worldwide.
