As someone who generally opposes the abhorrence that is all things xmas lights; credit where credit is due – Nice work! Its the OOTB bullocks that most people vomit on to their front lawn that annoys me.

Downside; he lives too far away for me to visit. O_o
Cool lights – Yes; 40 min drive to look – No

A — Fortunately I haven’t had any negative comments yet (from *anyone*) — all the neighbours love it (or are too polite to say anything!). The Perth guy seems to have done it as more of an advertising campaign for his company that he runs — every video/article/interview I’ve seen has him pushing his company. So it’s come from a completely different perspective — I just did it ‘cos I thought it was cool. If it makes heaps of problems (which is hasn’t, yet) I’ll just stop it next year.

John — hey, I never said I was original. I’ve always said that I’ve seen clips of the US houses, thought it was a cool idea, and so decided to do a similar thing since it’s nowhere near as popular in AU. Just because it’s been done before, doesn’t mean people won’t enjoy it. :-)
