@jackburtonHERO: advice really isnt worth giving in this situation. if you have a specific problem, then state it and people will help. otherwise, getting music from your "firmware" onto you device is dead simple once you PLUG THE THING IN! but i imagine you didnt even get that far before you came here to troll.

@jackburtonHERO: Don't mind the riff raff, adding media to your Zune is as easy as dragging and dropping. Just grab what files you want to add and drop over the Zune icon in the bottom left corner.

@jackburtonHERO: hm...I've never had any issues with the software.

First I'd say go into settings (top left), collection, then add all the folders that you keep media in. After that the software will automatically add any files in those folders.

After that connect your device and start sync (should do this automatically.

If you're still having issues then I recommend checking that all file types are associated with your Zune. To do this go into settings, File types then check all the ones you want in.

If you're still having issues go into settings, device (top right under settings), sync options, then set it to automatically sync all your media (or set individual options if you'd like).

Hope this helped! I have never had any issues with my software but I guess it happens.

@RobSchoenfeld: Plug the Zune into a computer loaded with the Zune software, and go into the software settings and make sure that it's looking in the proper folders for where your music is saved. Then in the software, drag and drop the music you want to the Zune icon in the lower left of the window.

For video, you must make sure your video is in the proper supported formats (I think it's limited to WMV, MPEG4[m4v] and .h264) and then do the same thing as you did for music

@Charles: I have experienced these lock ups. It hasn't been anything a reset wouldn't fix but none the less irritating. I've had my Zune for almost 7 months now and I can't believe how much more I like it than my last iPod.

I don't understand what is with all the typical Zune bashing. I got one for my wife because she wanted an FM tuner, and she LOVES the thing.

I have to work with ipods for work, and I have to say that the Zune is quite a bit better in my opinion. Plus Microsoft actually updates the firmware and keeps making the device you own better. Apple expects you to keep buy a new ipod if you want updates.

Microsoft looks to be the better of the two companies as far as product and support goes.
