I'm going as a Dharma Workman from the swan lab, I have the jumpsuit with the patch i bought off ebay. I even had my name with Workman embroidered on it. I also got a hatch key replica off ebay. In addition, and why I really love this costume, I made a bunch of Dharma Brand Beer labels which i printed out on label paper and cut up. So all night long I'll buy beers and cover them with my Dharma labels thus making my beers part of my costume!

THE rule for a good movie character halloween costume: has to be 3-6 months before the movie comes out, or 10+ years after. Last year Indy (if well done) was a great costume. Now, sadly, the movie came out. Last year Joker was a great costume, this year every douchebag with access to makeup and a green shirt is going to be a shitty joker and even if you do it well you'll be lost in the green and purple riptide of douchebaggery. Authenticity is key, costume store costumes are crap. This year I've already got an appropriate trenchcoat and fedora, so I spent a few hours on the mask and now have a killer Rorschach getup.

I just saw the most awesome costumes ever. In DUMBO I saw two dudes dressed in the Flight of the Conchords "Robots" like costumes, and it looked pretty awesome. however, when I took my niece trick or treating in Clinton Hill, we saw a kid with a similar FotC type Robot outfit but it had LIGHTS!! Blinking lights across the chest. It was f***in' AWESOME. Very well made. Wish I had a picture but my phone kind of sucks.
I dressed as a younger Steve Jobs. But no one picked up on it. Next time I am making a cardboard Apple II to go with the outfit.

I went as King of All Cosmos from Katamari.
Only two out of 200 actually understood who I was dressed up as, but the 198 jaws dropped when I entered the room. The feeling was awesome, totally worht the 4 hour paint job on the head.
