you might find that its the phone and not the network thats the problem. I use my phone in the city and rural areas no problem and use data on the move with no drama.

i have an iPhone on Virgin and have found the quality of service terrible.

not only is the 3G network speed slower than dialup, but seems to be patchy as hell in CBD areas that you'd expect Optus to have decent coverage.

one thing i've learnt, dont bother trying to use any data based application when in the car on the move - their base stations obviously cant support handing over from one to another.

then there's the quality of the voice network - i reckon every day at different times i cant make a ph call, or people trying to call me get the message saying that this number doesn't exist, is not in range, is turned off or just time's out.

one word - pathetic.

waiting for my 12 months to be up on this contract, payout the penalty and get back to Telstra

I dont get this…i have optus and hardly ever have any problems with it at all. Maybe im just lucky?
