The poor Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends float was just minding its own business when that cocky (though rugged, handsome) superstar Rick Astley showed up and spoiled all the fun. Man, what's with that guy?? Happy Thanksgiving from the internet meme incarnate.

@yogibimbi: sometimes life offers more than Lcds and mp3 player. Take Rick Astley for example, he was here before both of them.

Rickrolling occurs on a computer.
A computer is also a gadget.

@[Dextr]: I think that was the point here. You didn't expect the parade to rickroll you.
Now, what would be totally sweet is if Obama did this in the middle of a national speech.

I think its time to retire this meme.
I mean, when the Macy's parade people are booking Astley to RickRoll their own parade, something has gone sour.
Now, if Astley just showed up at random events unannounced and did this, this shit is back on.

Rickroll refers to when you send someone a link, telling them it is something cool, funny, etc, and instead it is the video for Rick Asley's "Never Gonna Give You Up"

@MeoX9X: Some of the people in my graduating class at my high school & I went to NY for a senior trip almost 2 years ago. And we stayed right next to a Scientology Center! My friend went over there and got a pamphlet. It's hilariously serious! I still don't know anyone personally that follows Scientology, or even takes it seriously! I just know some celebrities practice it: Tom Cruise, Isaac Hayes (RIP), and I think Will Smith does too, probably because he's buddies with Cruise.
But seriously, it's maybe 1/4 to half a mile to the side of Times Square, so the parade wouldn't directly pass by the place. If only it was in Broadway...

I can't believe I missed this on TV! Did it come on after 11 pm EST? If it did, then I definitely missed it. I saw most of the parade up until then, when our family left to visit my mom's family an hour or so away. But that is incredibly funny (yet really creepy for the kids)! Unfortunately, now the Rickrolling phenomenon should die, especially now that everyone knows about it! :(
Every fad on the Internet eventually dies after a few months, or a year at the latest, but this one seems to have outlived most Internet fads!
BTW, Astley looks almost the same as he did back in the day, yet he no longer has his red hair! What's up with that? And Foster's should totally do a Rickrolling moment on their show where everyone just breaks out into that song! And maybe have Astley in that episode! That would be great!
