Watch Entire MacBook Event Now
Posted by Matt Buchanan at 6:55 AM on October 15, 2008
Apple's just posted the video of the entire MacBook event, so you can watch it from start to finish. It's worth watching just to hear Jonathan Ive render "aluminum" in his delicious English accent over and over and over. Oh, and I hear Steve Jobs makes a cameo or two. [Apple]

Apple owners account for too small of a percentage for this much coverage.

Not the most exciting keynote. Some awkward silences and not a lot of feedback.

@Wegmans: Sucker! You didn't actually think they would give you a link to watch a ridiculously long Apple advertisement when their entire website has been an ad for Apple all day long, did you?

okay, while I realize that Apple is a sponsor of this site, that being said.... HOLY HELL!!! you'd change your name to Apple/Mac if you could I bet....all I see when I went on your site today was Mac this, Mac that....i swear, outta 10 stories on the front page, 8 were Mac/Apple related....and while I love this site, I despise Mac, as I believe it's for ID10T5' who don't know how to right-click...they can use their middle finger when it's least important, but god-forbid you gotta use it for important things such as work. Aside from the constant Mac "advertising", this site is awesome, keep up the good work. also, the rant is NOT directed at the mods/admin of this site, as I realize that Mac is much simplier to work with when it comes to web design...it is good for somethings, but it's the tools/morons who can't work a simple right button on a mouse out there that give these machines a bad name. After working in tech support for years, Mac is easiest to fix outta pc/Mac, but the users of Mac have proven themselves to be less intelligent for the most part, as the REFUSE to follow instructions, making problems worse.

ZahidSage "After working in tech support for years, Mac is easiest to fix outta pc/Mac, but the users of Mac have proven themselves to be less intelligent... "
After years of tech support you should have realized there are two categories of Apple users - (1) users that know how the systems work and fix everything themselves (2) users that have no clue what they are doing and require tech support to fix the problem.
Just thought I might point that one out.
With the Mac OS, there tends to be less 'gray area' where a user is tech savvy, yet unable to fix the problem themselves

@ZahidSage: Oh shut up. About everything, but especially about the right clicking. Even Apple supplies a right clicking mouse these days.

@JustEaton:
Interesting you should say that. Seeing as how the exact same comment has been said about a FEW recent events.

@ZahidSage:
Seriously, did you bother doing the slightest inkling of research before whining about how stupid Mac users are, seemingly oblivious to how stupid you just made yourself look? If you don't like Apple's market offerings, just put "www.gizmodo.com/tag/not:apple/not:iphone/not:ipod/not:mac/not:imac/not:macbook/not:os%20x/" into your bookmarks.
VoilĂ , you've got a totally Apple-free Gizmodo, and so you can now cease your needless bitching and whining about how you hate Apple's products and its user base. You can filter out any posts labelled with any particular tag using that same syntax. It'd be much nicer for everyone if the haters could finally shut up and filter out the things they hate.

The problem is all Apple really has is opinion. The keynote, THREE minutes in, iWork is the 'best' productivity suite available. Says who? I certainly don't.
Opinion of people defending Macs (no-one else), high prices and the snobbery of fanboys isn't exactly endeering the company to many people but said fanboys.
I'd like a MacBook to have the best of both worlds, my PC for my main stuff, my MacBook for portability and all the other cool stuff, but those are some pretty big pitfalls to overcome.
They manage to spin things like "1 of every 3 dollars is spent on a mac" as a good thing. And sadly the fanboys lap it up. The ONLY reason that is the case is because of the shocking prices.
Oh and Ive has an English accent, not a British one.

It was refreshing to hear Jonathan Ive pronounce aluminium (not "aluminum") correctly, in spite of the irritating American pronunciations from everyone else.
As for the new MacBooks, they look really nice. Though it's a shame I'll have to wait for them to update the 17" MacBook Pro.

I like how in the begining they claim they have BETTER COMPUTERS.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
It's the SAME DAMN THING!!!! A Mac "IS" a PC!
It's not a matter of BETTER computers. It's a matter of LIMITED computers. Which gives them more stability. But then again, jacks up the price.

@JEmlay:
Even better is when Apple claims to have FAR SUPERIOR computers then anything ELSE on the market.
Yeah, because Intel is saving all the SUPERIOR CPUs for Apple. Because Nvidia is saving all the SUPERIOR GPUs for Apple.
This is hilarious stuff!!! Apple's head is so far up their ass they'll never see the light of day again.
