@DreDog: To me, the iMac suffers from the same inconsistent and awful design style. This suffers from the same problem.

Even if its on my lap, in my oppinion, it will just not look right. I understand the motives, but just dont like the execution.

Take one maker that did that right, the Voodoo Envy. The reason why it works is because its all black (and sadly, glossy). It essentially has the same screen design, but it flows perfectly. This, like the iMac, does not.

Clearly if this is legit than there are a couple new things:
- keyboard to power on
- trackpad has built-in buttons (gesture)
- Glass...I've had an iphone in my pocket for 1 year with no screen protection and its not scratched...but it'll be shiny as hell...too bad we didn't get to see the screen with a "lite" background
- macbook-style opening (no latch)
- no IR port on the front that we can see
- Slot loads from the side

My conclusion is that there is a likely chance that this is a MacBook shot. Yes yes, it says something like MacBookPro on the front, but I think its a photoshop.

A) The spacing between "ook" and "Pro" is too close
B) The "Pro" is not level (bad kerning)
C) Spectral density analysis of the image using my own tools shows that the word "Pro" doesn't match the overall density of the rest of the image, its really just part of the "Boo" from "Book", cut, edited and pasted.
D) It looks like the existing black macbook keyboard.

We'll find out tomorrow!

if what you're citing is the definition of the bezel in relation to the left side, it's consistent.

The right side of the keyboard and the right edge of the laptop itself are clearly defined at a slope. It's one of the marks of a pic taken from an iPhone when in motion, good definition and clarity on one side, the blur just beginning on the other.

Chicklet styles keys are the future man, I feel bad for all the pros that hate them. I can't stand normal keyboards. They are awful, I type so much better on these.

@vgart: Its not the blur im talking about. Its the black border surrounding the screen on top with only the slightest amount of aluminum showing on the edges, while the bottom is dominated by aluminum.

If there was an aluminum border on the screen, while making both the screen and aluminum on the same level (no indentation), then it would look better.

As it is, it looks really tacky.

Assuming this shot is real... I wonder if the trackpad will just run off a tap system or something else entirely. Maybe a depressable trackpad that makes the whole thing a huge button! Now that I would actually prefer over a mouse button. If they're just sticking with the taps, however, no thanks for me.

Otherwise tho...this looks pretty sweet and seems to very closely match the previously posted shots of the lower casing. I see they finally are doing away with the physical latch too. That thing confuses my PC friends...lol...

1)No track pad button. The earlier spyshots had one and how can you click and drag without a button?

2)Screen boarder is WAY too thick. We were told this was going to be a smaller foot print machine. The screen boarder is twice as thick as my current Macbook pro.

3)Where's the sleep light?

And just because the black screen border bezel looks good on the imac doesnt mean itll look good on the MBP. And like someone said earlier, the border around the screen is too thick--why would Apple make it thicker than before, expecially when they said the footprint would be slightly smaller?

@ijuleguy: I never said it was on a street corner... GPS is not that exact, especially on most phones. My iPhone has been accurate from a few meters to almost half a city block. Obviously the picture was taken inside. I simply opened the file and posted the metadata. If you're on a mac, open the image in Preview, hit command i and look under the middle tab. The info is listed there. If you click the "locate" button, it will launch Safari and automatically show you the location on Google Maps. Really though, metadata can be altered and faked as well, just so you know.

Ugh, glossy display - I'll stick with my latest gen Penryn Macbook pro.. At least with it, I still get my multitouch gestures, updated keyboard (with dashboard, spaces and music controls) and a matte display.
