Microsoft Surface on a Wii Balance Board
Posted by Mark Wilson at 11:00 PM on October 3, 2008
It's tough to imagine the eureka moment when an engineer, equating the Microsoft Surface with a fat person with a penchant for curly fries dipped in ranch, decided to place the Surface on the Wii Balance Board. But the result, coupled with a custom-coded Surface app, creates a tilt screen of epic proportions. Pushing on one edge of the Surface works just like rotating an iPhone. And we can't wait to see the technology manifest to an insane 4-player co-op game of Monkey Ball. [Stimulant via ubergizmo]

That was actually pretty sweet. I'm really hoping that multi-touch is done right. There are so many ways they could make a potentially really cool and fun device work cold and boring.
Anyways here's hoping they don't f it up.

I can't wait to go to Vegas and play with the MS Surfaces they have at some of the hip bars there. Wow, I just realized how nerdy that sounds...

Well, Mutitouch will be in Windows 7 so hopefully all these projector based surface machines can go bye-bye!

I think the cat was dead. That's what happens when you spend months trying to build a motion toy all while forgetting to feed your cat!

Nice and all, and maybe this is just be being grumpy because today I'm grumpy...
But am I the only one tired of watching test or concept videos involving Wii, Wii peripherals, or other gadgetry that might-become-something-really-interesting-but-never-does?
You know, like Playstation Eye and augmented reality stuff, WiiMote and Jhonny Lee's ideas, etc etc?
I don't mean the ideas are bad, but I'm getting kinda tired of waiting for the great new games that will use those ideas that never really happens.

I use the Wii White Board project at work all the time. Employees here love it!
Took me a while to find a decent WIDE ANGLE IRLED but in the end it turned out very well!
