I just purchased this off catchoftheday.com for AUD$189. Super bargin for 1080P camcorder. So, I hope it is good value.

I am generally very happy with the camera and was able to do some basic editing. It displays very well on the laptop and PC, but to this stage I was unable to create a DVD that would work on either of our DVD players (the main reason for purchasing the camera). Although I read the manual several times and following the instructions as I understand them, I don’t seem to be able to work it out.
Once the project is loaded on to the PC, it seems to assume a file format that requires a special program to produce a TV ready DVD which does not seem to be part of the supplied software? Any (simple) instructions?

I`ve got my Kogan Camcorder too, looks high quality, very light and very easy to use as there`s few manual settings. Kogan also supplies a few leads, which plug nicely into my Samsung 1080P 40″ LCD Tv for instant viewing. The verdict.. In 1080p recording mode the pictures are amazing.. high detail.. as a mate said, just like watching a DVD. It needs holding still when zooming to avoid the wobbles etc and the sound is maybe a bit weak ( just maybe.. ) Not sure if the specs ie OIS is correct ( overseas models have EIS ) but am very pleased with it overall.

Got the Kogan video camera last week. Have spent the last few days playing with it. Quality appears good, but haven’t been able to get viewing on either TV or computer to work as yet. Jerky on the computer and not viewable at all on the TV. Documentation is very rudimentary and leaves you guessing. No help provided regarding the software at all. Certainly is not for those who need all the options, but if i can get the rest of it working, the quality appears OK. Hunts a little when videoing and not great in low light conditions. Time will tell. Interested to hear what others have to say.
