Ghostbusters Ecto-1 For Sale on eBay

If you missed out on the 89' Batmobile a few weeks ago, now is your chance to score another piece of Hollywood history. A fully-restored Ecto-1 used for over 15 years as part of the Ghostbusters Experience at Universal Studios is now up for bid on eBay. According to the current owner, it still runs great and Ernie Hudson thinks it looks better than the one used in the films. Now that is an endorsement worth spending over $US45,000 for. @Geisrud: In many municipalities red and blue emergency lights (turned on mind you) are reserved for emergency vehicle use only. IE: Ambulance/Fire/Police. You'd be risking a ticket if you turned them on. Though having them on the vehicle isn't illegal usually.

Some guy here in Brooklyn (Windsor Terrace near Barton Pritchard Square) has an old ambulance just like it. He uses it in connection with a pest/rodent control business.

I so want this. Only problem is I'd have to change the lightbar; blue lights are only legal (at least in my area) on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Are they getting rid of this in favor of some tricked out "tumbleresque" type vehicle for Ghostbusters III?

I actually have had my picture taken in front of this very car at Universal at ages 10, 14, and 18. Brought back good memories to see it again.
I wash I had a the money, this would be mine.

BTTF Delorean or Ghostbusters Ecto-1? I wouldn't mind owning either of them. The roof-mount stuff on the GB2 version I think is more geek-tastic though.
