Fanatec RennSport Wheel Stand Hangs On Tight While You Drive Like a Maniac
Posted by Mark Wilson at 5:45 AM on October 8, 2008
Racing wheels have come a long way, featuring excellent accuracy and realistic force feedback. But they're still quite awkward, requiring a properly positioned table or precarious lap placement. The RennSport Wheel Stand by Fanatec solves these positioning problems, holding the wheel, pedals and even stick shift in the perfect, adjustable spot for each player.
Constructed solidly out of aluminium and steel, turn as hard as you want, but the RennSport doesn't look to be going anywhere soon. Meanwhile, users can adjust height and angle of the wheel, which is more than you can say for most real steering wheels.
The catch is, of course, the price. At US$130, this wheel holder costs as much as many nice wheels themselves. But then again, the RennSport works with most major models and looks like the best thing for racing simulation since this little number. So you could do much worse. [BusinessWire via Digital Trends]

No wires between the wheel and the console/pc she is playing on? That's a wireless racing wheel?

Anyways, nice idea... lies between the cheap-ass plastic racing wheel, and the expensive-as-hell-cockpit convertion with racing seats.

Please tell me I'm wrong in seeing what looks like an attachment point under the wheel directly in front of her vajapocalypse. Does it reward good driving? Or does it simulate/stimulate running over the rumble strips on the side of the road.

@Noobs-R-Us:
Actually, the 80's were cream and pastel colored shoes. Maybe you were thinking of the late 60's to the mid 70's?
Women always had the "option" of wearing white shoes. It was never really out of fashion for them. It's just the style of shoe. For men (or more accurately, metrosexuals) white leather dress or casual shoes started coming in vogue again about a year ago. Unless you were are in the navy then dress whites mean white leather patent shoes.

Split between legs = instant fail in my mind.
The main reason I've not bought a wheel is that aside from the ridculous cost of "faux cockpits", they never seem to have the pedals right, and stands like this make it to where if you tried to heel-toe, you'd bang your knee on a post.
I have a design, no real motivation to make it work.
A for effort, F for execution.
(PS. I don't know if it's the Snorg girl or not, but I want to smack her in the face. She looks like the "hot girl with a horrible laugh" incarnate).
