Blackberry Bold's US Debut Delayed Yet Again

Say it ain't so, Joe AT&T. According to RIM CEO Mike Lazaridis, the communications giant has delayed the release of the Bold on their network due to testing, possibly to safely avoid epic, bug-related fails. AT&T did go on record, only saying the phone is still scheduled to drop this year. But the longer you keep the BB faithful from the Bold, the more time they have to consider that other phone on AT&T. How can Telstra and Optus release the Old if everyoe else is having problems with it. A tech at 3 told me that Optus would be recalling the Bold asap???

@Samifumi: I really don't think it's an Apple - RIM issue, I had a Pearl before and AT&T service was excellent... I just switched to an iPhone and service is still great (switched because Pearl handles media like a 386DX!... sloooooow)
Although the bold looks like it's big a step up.

AT&T loves Apple, and hates RIM (hence this story).
Verizon loves RIM, and hates Apple (hence the Storm).
It's all really childish, but until the FCC finally gets its crap together and stop this nonsense exclusivity, don't hold your breath on getting the freedom to select the phone you want with the carrier you want.

yea, I feel you shoes. I want to toss my 3g in the river and go to something that actually works and isnt overprotected by an emerging tech company. Let's face it, apple is still wearing diapers and until they learn that you cant be castro with your products I will not buy another.

I agree, the 3G isn't "all that" it's nice and all, but AT&T service isn't even available on EDGE in my Apt. anymore, much less 3G. I get a constant "no service" until I get out into the parking lot. So something is jacked up. When I throw my SIM into my Tilt (WinMob Sucks, but at least I get service) I get all kinds of connectivity, same with my old iphone 1st gen, but not on my 3G, it's worse than ever. Anyone know of a fix besides shooting the damn thing? I was looking forward to a real replacement like the bold, with A2DP, WIFI, real connectivity etc. so looks like I have to wait a bit longer, damn!!!

@ashamaniq: honestly... I would rather the FCC not impose MORE regulation than it already has. Those guys are bad business.

Bold = Best phone I've had.
Come to Canada, we have them "en masse!"
Imagine if the real reason the Bold isn't going over the border is because of economy issues...

I already considered that other phone on AT&T. Loved my BB 8820, waited for the Bold, got impatient, Hello iPhone 3G. Love the iPhone and will never look back.

I do believe the Bold has great potential though. It is a tad big...I like the Curve still. It's the ultimate in sleekness and size.
