Asus Ditches Subtlety, Uses Underwear-Clad Model to Sell New Subnotebook

Just so we're all clear on this, there is no way that purchasing a computer or gadget of any kind, regardless of price, brand or size, will get girls like this to talk to you. I'm sorry, but it's the truth. Spend that money on some new clothes, a haircut and a gym membership. You are too smart to be taken by these base tactics, my friends. [CNET Taiwan via The Raw Feed]

@egyptomix: It would be an interesting poll to find out if anyone has actually secured a significant other (originally met them) thanks to some electronic gizmo. I suspect there would be very few, but I am open to the concept that a new iPhone or laptop might actually seduce the other side. However, it would seem to work better for women (to get men) rather than for men (to get women).

Wrong, when ipods came out I found girls gravitating towards it for no reason. My friend used it to get numbers. This was way back in the day.
I have yet to see similar results with my Zune. I'd keep trying but the iphone guys keep pulling up directions and movie times for hot babes. Very stiff competition on the 15 bus these days.

@helldiver: The issue here is that Asians make all the cool gadgets - aside from Apple. But the mass of asian booth babe models do tend to look like 12 year olds with too much eye makeup.
How about if we just found some curvy asian chicks next time? They're probably kind of rare, but I'd bet there's one or two out there. How about we compromise and just get Kelly Hu. She's mostly Asian, and entirely amazing.

@Monty: When I first met my GF who I've been living with for ~8 years now, it was over Starcraft. She had just discovered Warcraft II at a friend's place, but she was really late to the game, since Starcraft for mac was already out. Not exactly a gadget, but it was the impetus for her techno-gadget obsession.

Netbooks do attract girls, at least on my campus. I got my eee pc a week ago, and at least a dozen girls I don't know have approached me to say "Wow, what is that thing?" or "That's so cute! I want one!" The down side is that men aren't immune to its effects: you'll be starting more conversations in general, especially when you're extremely busy finishing program and have absolutely no time to talk to anyone.
