Add an Integrated GPS Receiver to Hackable Dell Mini 9
Posted by Sean Fallon at 4:29 AM on October 8, 2008
Modders prodding around inside the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 have discovered that there is a lot of potential to add new functionality thanks to some areas with empty space. That having been said, MyDellMini member Tom Beauchamp used a pocket next to the Bluetooth adaptor to add a super-small GPS receiver. If using your PC for navigation sounds appealing and danger is your middle name, Beauchamp has provided a complete set of instructions on how to do it yourself. At the very least, the project illustrates the potential of the Dell Mini 9 as a hackable device. [MyDellMini]

Sorry Gizmodo.
I honestly didn't think you folks'd go for a Mini 9 mod or I would have tipped you this morning!!
As you can see from that thread I've got my own internal USB hub project cooking for mine too.
The Mini 9 is awesome and that is THE website for fans.

This is something I would be willing to do to my Aspire One. I've got a bunch of space in my case since I got the 120gb version.

Its nice to see these, but I sometimes really wish I could see some for other common laptops... like lets say a guide for USB pads on a HP laptop.
Hopefully someone starts to produce Mini-PCI cards to USB or to solder pads... for easier soldering. Maybe integrate a step up transformer for the 5v and add a USB hub to the circuit.
^ ;) feel free to use that idea, if you become almost rich with it, feel free to send me a few samples :P
