Sony's (Yes, Sony's) ICF-CD3i the Neatest Looking iPhone Clock/Radio Dock Yet
Posted by Wilson Rothman at 11:30 AM on September 11, 2008
Sony Insider has uncovered Sony's newest Dream Machine, the ICF-CD3iP, the most attractive iPhone/iPod Clock/Radio Dock I've seen yet. No telling what it sounds like, but for the US$100 or so it will cost when it eventually surfaces, I'm guessing it would be somewhere between "tinny but decent" and "hey, that's not so bad."
SI mentions the fact that it has an iPod/iPhone remote, and that its alarm can co-exist with iPhone/iPod alarms; I don't believe that's a first, but it's a good thing to hear. By the looks of it, that iPod dock slides out, too, a nice thing for those who might not care for iStuff. If the round face hasn't tipped you off already, it's also a CD player with MP3-CD playback, and it has a line in, in case you still want to patch in your 120GB Zune. What? Sony still makes MP3 players? Huh. [Sony Insider via iPodNN]

it looks like sony hired some laid off sharper image designers. apple should have some kind of minimum design requisite for 3rd party accessory manufacturers

It looks a little cheap to me, but I need an to buy the new iTouch before I look into a clock radio.

Looks terrible to me :( Looks like they just rigged a dock to an average everyday alarm clock... no integration at all...

@Weihovah: I have to agree. That thing just screams Sharper Image. Something tells me that it also doubles as a back massager, nose trimmer, and ionic air purifier. All of which occurs simultaneously.

Who designs these things ? iPhone in back so you can't see it if you on the left of this...this ... CD playing XL dog dish ? & what does it use for power with all that extra space, 6 "D" Cells ?? H3LL, I live in Japan and that's even FricknFugly by Japanese standards. I am assuming the speakers are in the back and facing the wall...right ?

Just curious... in the image, why is the iTunes Music Store icon on the right side of the screen instead of the left? Because, everytime I rearrange icons on my iPhone, they all left justify.
Just saying... unless I'm clueless (which is a distinct possibility) than this is odd.

@greatpear411: The only way I knew of how to do that is by jailbreaking it, then moving the three icons that would be there, to a categories folder and it would stay. So basically it means Sony is using a jailbroken iPhone in it's ads.

@ajlafontaine:
Huh?? Just press and hold the icon until it jiggles. Rearrange icons, and press the home button

In the previous iPhone version the Music Store Icon was above the iPod icon. It is a small visual cue (the arrow in the Store icon points at the iPod. Songs go from store to iPod).
Wait...err i mean:
ZOMG SONY is teh devil!
