Are you sure it's not saying that even if you buy a PS3, girls will still want to get in your pants?

I believe the point that Sony is trying to get across is that the PS3 may be large and bulky on the outside but on the inside it is beautiful.

Maybe they are being harsh to themselves in saying although the PS3 is big in physical forms it runs beautifully inside (i.e. on the software side).

OR just maybe this may be a way to start the new rumour mill:

@bosskev: Ditto here. 70+lbs lost. I kind of did to to attract girls, not become one. That's what my avatar is for. On the plus side, I could spend hours playing with my new body, which would probably distract me from Video Games.

@CajunGuy: I am guessing that they saw one of those subway ads where Jerad is standing in his giant pants, and thought that it looked cool. To make it even better, they just changed Jared into a hot girl.

Then, they remembered that they are Sony, so they added the meat suits on the ground. Gotta love those Sony folks. Or put them away in padded rooms. One of the two.

OK, I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I think I MIGHT know what they're trying to do here. Bear with me...

Who's the stereotypical gamer? Males, 18-35, not athletic, usually pretty nerdy. Notice the discombobulated dudes on the ground? They pretty much fit the stereotype. Now, what I think they're trying to show is that the "modern" gamer is not necessarily the stereotype, but can be good-looking young women as well. So, in essence, the girl in the poster is "shedding" the stereotype of the PS3 gamer. Chew on that for a while.

Here's what really happened. Ad agency pitches babooshka doll, all dudes. Sony says, we need to have hot female in ad. Ad agency says ok, but if you put pictures of fat women, you will have protests and controversy. Sony says fine, make all the fat people dudes and put hot chick in center. Ad executive raises hand to creative talent who are about to wig out, and says "Of course! Brilliant!" Sony is happy. Ad agency is paid. Gizmodo generates some ad revenue pointing out how dumb the ad is. Oh, and lots more people see the ad, so maybe Sony is not so dumb afterall.

i think what they're trying to say is that, if you have patience and look really hard at the bulky exterior of the PS3, you will find a slightly less bulky, but still ugly, man inside. you must look harder, to find a not-quite-so-fat guy inside him. then, giving it all your might, you will find the least-fat-but-still-obese guy inside that guy.

and, at the very end, when you have exhausted all your efforts, you may be rewarded with your efforts at using a PS3 with a skinny girl. and she will be pretty bored of you by then.

@CajunGuy: I think you are on the right track here.
But I kind of think of it as how most guy gamers will pick a female character for looks over being a guy.
For instance, in a MMO it's much easier and more pleasing to stare at a hot elf chick's ass while running through dungeons, then a big muscular dwarf ass...
PS games usually have hot females in the games as well. Like Heavenly Sword, Final Fantasy, Soul Caliber... i know I'm forgetting one but you get the point ~_^
