PhoneSaber Strikes Back, Returns as LightSaber Unleashed

After being voluntarily retired from the iTunes App Store, following a call by THQ Wireless, the most useless yet completely obligatory iPhone app--PhoneSaber--is returning to the store as LightSaber Unleashed. The lightsaber simulator will tie in with the new LucasArts's game, including completely new graphics, "dueling music," and characters from the game:
THQ Wireless has the licence for all things Star Wars and mobile, which is why the application was pulled in the first place. But don't worry about this becoming a pay application: It will still be free, making it even better than the equally useless Spore for iPhone. As Duncan Stevenson from The Mac Box told me:
Basically you can expect a much more exciting gameplay. The dueling music is something that were really happy we managed to include - it was a much requested feature and makes it really exciting to play!
Hold on... is Duncan actually referring to "exciting to pretend to fight with lightsabers" when he says "exciting to play"? [The Mac Box]

Will this replace the phonesaber app I have installed now, or is it a new separate application?
I want to try this new one out, but I don't want to lose the old pulled version if I decide I don't like it. It's not showing up as an update in my phone's app store, so it looks like it's a separate app. Is there anyone with both versions installed who can confirm?

Great. Now the iPhone has an application that S60 and WinMo phones have had for the last two years.
Plus it's way cooler on a N95 because of the slider mechanism. Nothing shows one's inner geek better than flicking it open to the sound of saber on.

They should make one of the characters the Verizon guy. Where if you select him each swing of the saber costs 1.99

Look at it this way... the original developer wrote that cool app and gave it out for free.
He got a take-down notice, but instead of just getting screwed, he probalby actually got paid to write this update.
So kudos to him for turning a free-geek thing into a paying gig.

this is crap. I liked the name phonesaber alot better. And now that it's branded it just seems alot less cool. Plus, what ever happened to the classic characters? What kind of crap is this? I'm insulted.

Wow... and to think somehow all these years I've missed the secretely hidden accelerometer inside my (spare) N95, and all those WinMo phones!! Apparently so did every single app developer for those platforms!
