Notes: Gizmodo Brazil Live
Posted by Brian Lam at 2:23 AM on September 3, 2008
Between the tech culture and vibrant sense of life, Brazil is one country that should have a native version of Gizmodo. And now they're live, with a combination of Gizmodo US posts translated into Portuguese and their own local news. I took this shot with a camera phone on the beach several months back. But Rio is so beautiful a city, I wish I'd brought the capable Nikon D300 DSLR along for the ride. Not sure where I'd tuck that 18-200mm in my speedo, though. [Gizmodo Brazil in Portugese and translated into English]

Maybe they should start a list for the Brazilians of the top ten gadgets you can stuff into your bikini

@dingus: Is she...? no, she couldn't be... Clam Diving's illegal in Rio, isn't it? At least on public beaches, anyway.

Yep, they had some trouble at launch day, but nothing unexpected.
Wish them good luck... but I think I'll just stay here on this very international Gizmodo.
Unless I get a job on Gizmodo Brazil... hmmm, interesting.

@TM-Oliveira: Could be. That might be vidigal in the background, but I cant tell. My wife will know when I get home as she's from there.

Hmmm, I can't help but think that Chen would have known where to tuck the zoom "Yes, I'm happy to see you AND I have a long lens"....

I really don't get WHY it's "gizmodo"... besides the "gizmodo" image on the top, there's NOTHING of gizmodo there... the blog software is gawker's... the writing isn't gizmodo-style (it is not even blog-style... it's just plain old magazine like writing...)... is Gizmodo mcdonals now? you pay up and can use the brand?
I'm really disappointed... IF Gizmodo Brasil exists, it should be a lot more, a lot better and "Gizmodo" actually, not a generic website with Gizmodo logo sticked on top...
translate.google.com would be a better option...

Muito bêm. Gostaria de ler Gizmodo em portuguese. Essa praia é Leblon o Ipanema. Eu morei lá quando ero criança.
