Actually a violet-edged black hole. High energy light would be the only light to escape the edge of the "Apparent Horizon" of a black hole...violet is the highest energy light in the visible spectrum, hence that is what you see closest to the black hole.

Recall that black holes created by the LHC will be extremely small, and hence have a lifetime on the order of less than a billionth of a second.

Yes. Black holes are generally formed when a star exhausting its thermonuclear fuel collapses unto itself due to mass-gravitational effects towards a point of singularity. In theory, high energy particle accelerators could potentially create a small simulacrum but they could not be sustained in any way visible to the human eye for now. As someone said, It should not increase any significant amount in size since it depends on the original mass.
