I dropped my iphone from waist height (pulling it out of my pocket and dropped it), cracks all over the upper right corner, but it still works fine.. just have to use it in a case with a screen cover. But I used it as an excuse to buy a 16 gig. :)

Over the weekend, we found a gen-1 iPhone in the gutter of a moderately-busy road. Given the dimpling on the back, it looked like it got run over, yet the screen was intact -- no cracks. Pretty impressive, although I'm guessing that it was probably run over width-wise and not length-wise.

(And, yes, we managed to return it. The iPhone wasn't pin-locked, and we were trying to figure out who to call (we were thinking about calling, "Dad"), when the owner called her iPhone.)

my boss's son's iPhone has had cracked glass for a while, and the thing still works fine.

for all the designer, all-fashion-no-durability look that the phone gives off, it can survive abusive (read: clumsy) owners better than you'd think.

It was in my coat pocket. I put some things in the car on the passenger side before leaving for work.

While at work I couldn't find my phone. I went home for lunch and what do I find... yep, my cell phone half buried in the pebbles in front of the house. I had run over it with the car while leaving.

It looked like crap and had a cracked screen, but still worked. The best part. The authorized service center for Sprint in the area replaced it (business account phone with huge company).

Looks like my 3G iPhone just after the Griffin Technology Elan Clip let it fall right off my belt.

Pros: Griffin fessed right up and said they would take responsibility. I sent them the Apple estimate for repair ($299- the cost of a new one!).

Cons: THAT WAS FOUR WEEKS AGO! Every time I ask about it, they say that they appreciate my patience. Patience my A$$; I want to kill something!
