Sonim Xp1 is rubbish. I have had a XP1 for 8 Months I have had 3 replacements the third has just died. While the phone industructability is a feature it appears the phone self distructs without any help from the user. In every instance the keypad data entry went haywire. No problem with Crazy Johns great service. I think the Samsung has a similar phone perhaps itis worth a try .

I'll tell you exactly how to destroy this phone. Fully submerge it. I just bought one and tested out the waterproofing. Turns out they don't like to swim...
It's been about 4 hours drying out now and the thing still will not switch on.

Having worked as a mobile phone technician for 8 years here is my 2cents worth. Some of the posts above are just absurd but I tell you what lets subject it to real life experiances not ones that will never occur. We brought back to life phones that fell into toilets, had dust particles in them, smashed from impact and the list goes on but the greatest challenge is sea water so lets take it to the beach guys if it survives its"the" phone

Give it to my hubby. Mobile phones just don't last around him. He lent over a motor and destroyed one when it fell out of his pocket and into a moving fan belt. Another went through the washing machine 'coz he left it his pants pocket (okay.... that was my fault as well!). He left another on a car roof and it slid off and smashed as he drove off. And he tossed another out of frustration because it kept dialing numbers by itself (okay well that one deserved to be tossed - it had a mind of its own). I'd love to try the Sonim to see if it really is as good as they say it is, but given hubby's track record (and mine) I'm a bit frightened that even the Sonim wouldn't withstand everyday living in our household.

Since my last comment I am now on my third phone. Unfortunately it isn't all that hard to kill this phone. Not that I've been trying to. If you really wanted to kill it quickly then I can introduce you to a 512ton rated winch that can do it all in about 2 seconds. Or,
I could just take it to my job, where I seem to average about 1 phone every 90 days.

Use as either a pinata or leave it in jumping castle/ball pen at a 4 years olds birthday party. That should see the end of it.
