Halo Energy Sword Makes You Unstoppable/Arrestable
Posted by Mark Wilson at 11:15 PM on September 24, 2008
We've all picked up the Covenant Energy Sword in a multiplayer match of Halo, grinning with childlike glee...only to be combo sniped and teabagged into oblivion. Now you can settle the score in real life with this Halo energy sword replica. Cast in stainless steel finished with the reflective "spectrum treatment," the 27-inch sword will mirror the red blood of your enemies, the blue flashes of police lights and the dark consequences of your actions as you spend life in jail...oh so far from your precious sword. You were an Arbiter once, long ago. And for a moment, it was wonderful. [Trueswords via Kotaku]

Unless you hold the pointy ends in both hands and beat your opponent to death with the other end, it's probably not much use as a weapon. It could however become a great gadget! Scale it right down and you've got a very nice-looking staple remover,or make the black bit flexible and you've got some kick-ass Bruce Lee style chopsticks for those who can't use real ones! Klingon tweezers anyone?

I want one of those little floaty purple cars that zips to and fro.
Even though someone always seems to blow it - and me with it - up every time I am out joyriding.
Why - there was this one time in Zanzibar . . .

I would take this to every convention within range (and some beyond) and start taunting all those little jedi-church wannabes.

@mciarlo: Exactly. Now if it actualy had the blades made of energy....THEN I would be impressed. (and frightened)

Anyone else notice just how many of this website's graphics are ripped directly from Amazon and eBay?

It would be SLIGHTLY worth getting had it been high carbon steel. 440 stainless is bleh. I have 3 full size katana's that are all fully functional, all high carbon steel... and all costing at least double that.... sometimes triple. Also have a high carbon steel rapier. The only stainless steel sword i ever had was a replica of Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu... but in Odachi size (not sure off the top of my head... but i believe it was something like 68" total length. the blade alone was nearly 5'). worst sword i ever had... blade was flimsy as hell. Granted it was one long blade... but high carbon steel more than likely wouldn't have been THAT bad.
Good thing though... asked the company i bought it from if i could return it... they said to use their account number that was on the invoice to ship it back via DHL. went to DHL, and they said i couldn't do that. informed the company.... heard no reply. couple days later, had the full refund of the cost of the sword plus shipping back in my account. Waited a week or two... still heard nothing... still didn't want the sword... so i sold it on eBay, and made the same amount for the sword AGAIN (minus having to pay a little more than i stated in the auction to ship it out).
yeah... 440 stainless steel.... pass.

This would be no fun. That puny little handle isn't going to stand up well to any kind of swinging fun. The blades are totally separate like a super-long wishbone that wants to break, totally unstable. The real light sword would have no mass so this wouldn't be a problem.

It's not licensed is it? At the price it's going for it appears to be a bootleg. The only licensed one I've seen is the yet-to-be-released Master Replicas edition but it isn't steel. But it does light and and make noises! WOO! NOISES!

Are you serious? I've been knowing about this beast.
Btw, TrueSwords is an awesome company to work with... I've already made two purchases, and intend on doing more. Daddy needs some new Panteras.

I would love to sword fight someone stupid enough to use this. They would be dead in seconds. What a piece of crap.
