Woon Box: A Toilet, Shower and Kitchen All-in-One
Posted by Sean Fallon at 10:00 AM on August 6, 2008
I can't say that I would be thrilled about the idea of cooking in the same space that I shower and go to the bathroom, but the idea behind the Woon Box is sound. Basically, the Dutch designers at KAW envision the Woon Box as something like an elaborate port-a-potty. It features a shower, toilet and kitchen inside a relatively compact box that can be transported to areas in need of temporary facilities. I can also see something like this being popular with people who need to conserve space in small dwellings. It is an interesting idea, but that woman in the gallery is definitely not helping to sell the concept. [KAW via The Design Blog]

All of a sudden my $300K 700 Sq/ft condo in DC seems palatial.

@92BuickLeSabre: It seems to be lacking an Autowash function for when Mila stops by to visit.

Haven't you ever heard the phrase don't shit where you eat? I'm guessing this inventor hasn't.

You all are selling this short.
I see at least additional ironing board and coffin functionality.

how is this new? My shower is my toilet and kitchen. Well at least this is better equipped. In, Out, Rinse, Repeat. What will be great, is when I get the golden shellback coating [gizmodo.com] on my computer, my shower will also be my office and entertainment room too. After all, don't most people live out of their showers? Why else would this product be made?

What's sad is that shower is bigger than the one I use in my apartment. Looks like I could at least turn around in that one. I want it!!
.....I hate being a poor student.

I live in an old, crazy above-garage attic turned into an apartment, and its laid out weird. My bathroom and shower are adjacent, so all the plumbing's together...but I enter my shower... through the kitchen. Like, across from the fridge, next to the microwave... shower door.

This should be sold packaged with Dr. Bronners. One square foot to wash it all, and one soapy miracle-liquid to do it with.

+ wheels = HOON BOX??
in for one if that's the next gen.
on a serious note, this would be a bitching addition to an RV, to be undocked by a hydraulic arm and placed nearby... you know, for the apocalyptic nomad with a sense of hygiene.

I don't know, I think the woman is providing a good example of the type of crazy people that would have one of these. I do admit it's really cool and I have known some friends with efficiencies on South Beach, FL which only had enough space for this contraption. However, I still remember a scientific study that showed fecal matter travels approx. 20 feet from the toilet when you flush. Puts a whole new spin on ecoli in your tomatoes and peppers.

This is completely unnecessary for those of us who already use their kitchens as toilets and showers--or those who have implements like garbage disposals in their shower.
