The button for the iphone is painful, and the response/delay time is slow.
my old Sony erricson, $200 phone, sweet photo's even better with the black and white effect.

Well no friggin' duh. Next time, take a actual camera - like any normal person would. You wouldn't take wedding photos on a camera phone, even if it *is* the almighty iPhone. You didn't need a 1200-word post about something so completely obvious that everyone already knew.

Also, is there really this kind of stigma against disliking something made by Apple? Or even just one small component of a device?

I am sorry but do you realise they still make actual digital cameras? most are very cheap and very good and all would out do every camera equipped phone. You should find some excellant reviews on gizmodo.com

Iphone’s weakest point is the camera, they didn’t improve on it in the 3G version because they knew it would sell regardless. Perhaps in the next generation they will improve on this feature or lack/of feature.
