Weighing Seat: A Chair That Weighs Fatties, Farts
Posted by Sean Fallon at 10:30 AM on August 16, 2008
As if you didn't already feel fat enough, how does sitting on a chair that doubles as a scale sound? Indeed, the Weighing Seat concept from the design team at Atypyk reminds you of how fat you are getting every time you sit down to eat. It could very well be the most effective diet you have ever been on. Either that, or it will force you to start eating your meals standing up. But look on the bright side, you can finally start weighing your farts. Ever been curious about that? What, just Jason and I? Come on guys, admit it. [Atypyk via Likecool]

this seems like a designer's 'short notice' submission

farts by nature are gas, would you be measuring the force of the expulsion?
and they stink so deaf people can enjoy them too!

If youre sitting on it, you cant read it. If someone is THAT fat they wont be able to see between their chubby little thighs. Useless except to torment someone.

I'll wait for the wifi toilet seat version that takes a before and after read and sends it to your blog so all your friends can see it.... ahhh the spirit of competition!

@KryptonZero: ah sorry. if you include in your search South Park it will probably yield better results. They had an episode dedicated to the weight of poo. Also: Katie Curic is refrenced.

@foebea:
I had to google what a curic was... according to uban dictionary 1 curic is equal to 2.5 pounds...
so 85 curic is equal to 212.5 pounds.....
Wow....just wow

@foebea: That would be Katie 'Couric.' But that South Park was hilarious.

@Curves: If it's a guy they won't be able to see over the beer belly. Same concept.

I love the design. Since I basically just sit and look at my crotch anyway the ergonomics work for me.

that deff is a epic fail at Industrial Design.
Duchamp could make something irreverent, this guy just made some crap.

It's a common scale mounted on four metal legs, this isn't new and and has no value to anyone. You could actually stand on a normal scale. Also if you have a weight problem you won't be able to see the display anyway. I'd rather half the items get covered if the crappy things like this weren't included.

Fail for not having a back.

@mechfluff: fat people are lazy enough, thus why they are fat, give them a chair back and they would sit in it all day instead of getting up and working off the chunk.

It should be "What, just Jason and _me_?"
Sorry to be the grammar police, but that mistake annoys me more than most others...

@Nick_Bentley: But dude, it's from a DESIGN team...which makes it art. And it looks retro, cause the scale is probably about 40 years old, so it should fetch around $10k in some trendy little gallery somewhere. I bet Brad Pitt buys it.
