Stella Artois PSP Rekindles Our Interest in Two Unlike Fads
Posted by Mark Wilson at 10:59 PM on August 25, 2008
The combination isn't exactly the most obvious, but hey, I'm a gamer, and hey, I like paying US$5 a glass for a pretentious beer that tastes identical to Budweiser. The Stella Artois PSP was manufactured in a limited edition for the Fosters employees who'd be brewing the "import" in Australia for Australia--part of the official "please don't spit in our delicate European beer" bonus. i'd say Stella was closer to Heineken than Bud. I don't really like Heineken though, so...

Dude Stella is not Brewed with rice, Stella may be the Belgian equivalent to Budweiser in it's ubiquity but it is blasphemous to even suggest the two taste the same Stella is a superior beer besides and it's only a dollar more per glass.

If you're selling a velvet cloth PSP bag Crown Royal > Stella

Locally brewed Australian Stella... absolute ass. Don't do it.
The local Heineken tastes even worse than the imported swill. That's saying something.
You don't even want to know what they did to the Becks. Epic fail. Nathan Lion & Fosters make some of the filthiest swill ever.

Stella tastes like Bud? Sounds like someone's been smoking some bud, rather than drinking any.

lol@ comments about Stella tasting like Bud. Unlike Budweiser, Stella isn't made with hose-water, rice, and wood pulp.

Stella>Budweiser, but only by the slimmest of margins. They are both pretty bad. But now, owned by the same company.

Belginas would take that comment very very roughly... Don't touch their beer!.. and never dare to liken it to Heineken either ;-). They might speak the same language -dutch- but its a very different culture...
And Bud.. the quintessential all-american beer is now officially owned by Stella's brewers, ImBev, a belgian-brazilian company...
I still fail to see the connection with the PSP though!

I fail to see the connection between the PSP and Stella Artois -- fabulous beer by the way ;) Can't see this helping the PSP's flagging sales though, even if they included a free case of Stella with every purchase!

a friend of mine went to belgium last september to go to the F1 race at Spa, and said all the belgians referred to stella as "wife beater." apparently it's regarded pretty low over there. i guess when you've got the likes of Chimay to compete with it's hard to keep a good reputation.
i haven't drank it since :P

Grolsch = Heineken = Stella = Summit > Becks > Rolling Rock

Meh, Stella's not all that, but yeah, comparing it to Bud is pretty lame. For one, AFAIK, they don't use any of the adjuncts (corn, rice) that the mass-market American lagers do. This gives it a more pleasant, "real beer" flavor.
Beyond that, it's not got much going for it. It's better than American swill, but pretty shitty as far as premium foreign brews go.

Me thinks that if you're going to call someone out, and a name like "douche" at the same time, then you need to first learn how to spell the putdown correctly or run the risk of sounding like it yourself, just saying...

Stella doesn't taste like budweiser because neither of them taste like anything more than vodka in seltzer water.
you wussies and your wussy yellow piss-beers... i know, i know, you'd drink something with flavor but, like, OMG it would go right to your thighs... and then how would you fit into your cute abercrombie pre-faded emo-jeans?

I'm sorry, but Bud tastes like arse... Who in there right mind would make beer with rice anyway? Beer's only real ingredients are: water, hops, barley, and yeast... NO RICE, No sewer water... Stella isn't the best in the world, but it's a thousand times better than any yahkee beer, esp. Bud...

It's ok Mark, I remember when I had my first beer, they all tasted the same!
As for Stella, it's a good beer with strong marketing (thus the religious followers), however I'd suggest Peroni for the uninitiated.
