Sony PMX-M80 Big Touchscreen PMP Packs Maps for Chinese Travellers
Posted by Benny Goldman at 12:20 AM on August 2, 2008
Sony's PMX-M80 is a cute white touchscreen PMP that stuffs some impressive specs in a 4.3-inch frame, a decent size for watching video without killing your eyes. The player has 16GB onboard memory, expandable via Memory Stick, a microphone, Google Maps-like browser with points of interest and your basic (MP4/AVI/WMA/MP3/AAC) codec support. Sadly, you won't see the PMX-M80 stateside: It's China-only and a little pricey at US$330 (2,260 yuan). [Akihabara News]

You know, with that limited codec support, it's not that different from a PSP without the games. The main (though big) difference is AVI

Or you could perhaps hack your existing GPS to give it similar abilities.
Look into it.
No guarantees, but you may be pleasantly surprised. I was.

@Ypoknons: Yeah, but thats why us smart PSP owners have custom firmwares and homebrew software that can play any video or audio files. :-D

Snoopy seems uncertain about it.

It's also expandable. I like it. I liked the previous China-only PMX that came out too. Shame I don't live in China.
