Sony Not Planning PS3 Price Cut for Leipzig, Spokesperson Says

Those hoping for a PS3 price cut in the near future better not hold their breaths. A Sony spokesperson confirmed on Friday that the company had no plans right now to give you another deal on the machine, and anyone hoping for that kind of news at Leipzig will be sorely disappointed. Given that they slashed the price less than a year ago, this shouldn't be too surprising. Though PS3 sales are still trailing behind the Wii, it's relatively recent discount put it neck to neck for second place with the cheaper Xbox 360. [Reuters]

It it the cheapest, best featured blu-ray player on the market ...AND upgradeable. Why wouldn't you keep it at the current price poin?

PS3 sucks anyway. Ive still yet to see one in a home, yet everyone I currently know has a 360 in their home. How is it tied exactly?

If you really have to save up or wait for a PS3 to go on sale before you buy one, you probably shouldn't buy one at all. Set your finances straight before you spend on video games

@livinzlife: It's tied because its quality hardware, unlike the Xbox 360. It also has a huge push with the blu-ray integration which has been reportedly gaining pace month by month. I for one, WANTED a 360 but still haven't purchased one due to the horrible build quality.

I just bought a used PS3 60g for an excellent price on Fri. Get em used, because lots of people are finding out they are playing more with their 360 or Wii, and they're not watching BR movies.

@livinzlife: So you base your "PS3 sucks" comment on the fact that you and your friends are poor? The whole "everyone I know argument" is completely relative. For example: Everyone I know owns both systems; therefore, they would seem neck and neck to me, also everyone I know has jobs that don't require name tags, hair nets, or having to use the phrase "Would you like regular or curly fries with that?"

@Mr.SithNinja: now that was just wrong i own both and to be honest im not too impressed with the ps3 as far as a game system i buyxbox 360 games more then ps3. Now mgs4 thats a diff story i agree with alot of you that the ps3 is better hardware its a all around better system but to tell you the true the last few games i bought have been for the 360
