Six-Bay MacBook and iBook Charger Is An Orgy Of Charging

Oncore's just released a six-bay MacBook and iBook charger which, as its name implies, can charge six batteries at the same time. Or rather three batteries at the same time, since it's divided up into three sets of two charging bays. Each bay can charge one while holding onto the other for when the first is done. This is made for the "education" market, but is perfect for when we need to go in the field and liveblog an Apple event and have to have six batteries on us. Comes in just charger or charger + six pack battery configurations. [Oncore via Macworld]

@jcrockerman: I use chargers like this for heart monitor batteries at work. Six batteries is hardly overkill for schools recharging their laptops.

haha good one, i remember the days when my Game Gear needed six AA batteries for about an hour of play. I always wanted the TV tuner for it!

come on...last time I needed six batteries on me were for my Gamegear for a ride to the store in my mom's car.... LOL...

I know a medical college that specifically bought Gateway laptops for years precisely BECAUSE Gateway had a system like this.
They had them in many of the buildings and students were allowed to change out batteries on their laptops with charged ones.
It's worth noting the Laptops were part of the tuition so the college also controlled what laptop students used.

But I thought Mac users didn't need to ever change their batteries. Because changing batteries is for geeks and stuffy corporate types, and that's why the MacBook Air's battery is non-changeable...

This would work great for an office group that uses Macbooks if there were such a thing.

useless for 99.9% of the Macbook users out there. now, if they offered a battery that lasts 10 hrs on one charge with heavy use...
