Robotic Luxo Jr. Lamp Is a Must on Every Pixar Fan Desk

Thinkway Toys's Pixar desk accessory/lamp/toy/thingamabob has a Luxo Jr. that moves and illuminates exactly like in the movie. As you can see in the video, you can activate it with a motion sensor and a remote control, a key ring in the shape of the the ball. It's cool for a piece of plastic, but I wish it really was a full-scale robot version of the iconic Luxo lamp that Pixar used in their second short. Hopefully we will have one of those next decade. A flying one. With lasers. And antimatter torpedoes. [Thinkway Toys via Slashfilm]

I think I'd rather see the discarded lamp march up to the stairs and confront its former owner, with a crowd of other angry lamps in the background, all to the tune of something like Children of the Corn or Village of the Damned.

A little history regarding Spike Jonze (in)famous Ikea Lamp ad.

Jonze brilliantly used POV and a little piano music as emotional blackmail to get people to feel sorry for a lamp. As the man says, it's a lamp. It has no feelings.
In the pantheon of advertising, the Lamp ad is right up there with the 1984 ad.

Okay, I know this thing sucks, but I've been hoping somebody would release Luxo Jr. for EVAR. My daughters literally freak out every time they see "Baby Light". I'm very much afraid I'll be purchasing two of them if the website ever loads.

This is awesome but it would've been even neater if he could hop on the ball and press it down like in the credits before each and every single Pixar film known to man. If only.
