RadioShack Flyer Indicates Xbox 360 Price Cuts on Elite, Arcade Systems

The Xbox 360 price cut rumours we've been hearing for September look to be gathering even more steam, as this RadioShack ad shows drops to US$399 for the Elite system and US$199 for the Arcade. That's down US$50 on the Elite and US$80 on Arcade, making your choices a nice smooth progression of Benjamins--US$199/US$299/US$399. The drops are rumoured to hit early next month. UPDATE: We've also just heard from the folks at setteb.it, who have news of an official 60GB upgrade to the 20 GB Xbox 360 system at the same price, €270 in Italy. [Joystiq]

So... is this a true price cut, or is the rat shack just dumping inventory because they realized that noone actually shops there anymore?

@Curves: That just makes you cooler. The reason I love RadioShack? They pay me to be OCD about cellphones and just about everything else I do. It's a wonderful working relationship.

Ok, can someone please correct and/or inform me on which one I would need to go with to get the new board layout that minimized the heat issues? I remember reading on how the memory was going to be moved on the newer systems which will help with the rrod slightly, but I can't remember when it was going to hit and if it was only going to be in a particular line of the 360s.

I love my local Radio Shack. It was the ONLY place I got up at 5:30 for on Black Friday. They didnt even seem to mind me being in my Bunny slippers and overcoat.

Back when the origianl XBOX was selling for $250, through a series of RadioShack errors I got one plus a whole slew of extras that would have brought it close to $350 (DVD remote kit, extra controller, extension cables, etc.), all for a total of $130. I've loved RadioShack ever since.

Yeah I still have the original article in my RSS feed. Methinks that John Mahoney was displaying some noobiness and thinking that the 360 hard drive could easily be swapped with an off-the-shelf hard drive, a la the PS3. A quick edit makes it like it never happened. Except it did.
What ever happened to strike-outs? Why is Giz editing articles to cover up their mistakes? I love the site, but I have noticed this happening a lot lately. Whats up with that Gizmodo?

I used to like working there. They laid me off today. Found out afterward they wanted me off payroll for some time. The new d*ck of a manager and I weren't seeing eye to eye, and he probably got me of the payroll that way. No doubt though, I loved helping the customers, and even though lately we had some retarded obstacles (lanyard system anyone?), I wasn't ready to leave like this.
Back on topic though, I just bought my 360 from my store, and will be returning it to trade in for the 60GB once the prices change. Another reason I still sorta like RS, 30 day return policy.

Ahhh I would get one if I didn't have other things to pay for (college, car, etc.). Hopefully this is true though so I can get one down the road.
