QuickPwn for Windows Now Supports iPhone OS 2.0.2
Posted by Jesus Diaz at 7:15 PM on August 21, 2008
If you want to upload to the latest 2.0.2 version of the iPhone operating system, and you have a PC, check out the new QuickPwn for Windows, which now supports it. Yippee Kai Yay and all that. Mac users, hold on because they are working on the Mac version too. Until then, you can always use Pwnage. [iPhone Dev]

INSTRUCTIONS
Download Firmware 2.0.1 and make sure you disable all apple processes in task manager before doing this.
Run the GUI and use the 2.0.1 firmware, not the 2.0.2 which was my initial mistake.
It should go through flawlessly and allow you to change your Boot Logos and add Cydia/Installer

I can confirm that if you do a full restore to 2.0.2
(not jailbroken) ..
and then you quickpwn to 2.0.2 (with the 2.0.2 firmware) it works flawlessly too!
(I had an Itunes database corruption, so I tought the jailbreak was responsible "and not my playing around with chmod! " so I went 2.0.2 the "legal" way... I missed cydia so much... when I saw the quickpwn supported 2.0.2 .. I couldnt resist!" )
I didnt loose any of my installed (bought) apps. and I got the pinapple and the cydia/installer and 2.0.2 shows in the about page. !
great!

I follow the instructions and get "QuickPwn.exe has stopped working" Does anyone know why? I´ve got 2.0.2 (5C1) installed now...

@ilves: Actually I find it realistic, and hilarious. Also, convenient.
That said, I really wish we'd get some more developer/hackers to write up things like netstumbler for the iphone. It would be really useful in my line of work.

I have been waiting for this, but also watching... I am still on 1.1.3 (if anyone can belive that) but its totally bug / hassle free and frankly the prospect of fixing what aint broke does not appeal.
...am I a fuddy duddy? (crap! guess the 'nifty' lingo just salted my own game)

DO NOT use this if you ever plan on unlocking your 3G iPhone. Wait for the full pwnage tool. The iPhone dev team has stated this will also upgrade your radio baseband which you DO NOT want to do if unlocking your phone in the future is in any way important to you.

@Cetrian: If you know the right repository name you can get netstumbler on Installer.app. PM me if you're curious.

I don't have/want an iPhone, but I was just wondering: Is there a program in the app store yet that lets you track and gather quantitative data from your bowel movements yet?

Question: I held off on 2.0.2 cause I heard it had some issues, but since I'm on the first gen phone I'm not too worried. I Quick Pwned it, now how easily can I update to 2.0.2? It sounds like it should be pretty easy, and I guess I can Pwn it again if it loses the jailbreak.
What do the giz commenters think?

@The Chad: If you upgrade to 2.0.2 you will lose your jailbreak and have to re-jailbreak it using quick pwn.

*sigh*
I just want to be able to use my iPhone apps again.
*sigh*
And it would be nice to have a FREE f$#@ing program that can backup my iphone music/vid to my PC. F$#@ Stevie all over again. What a f$#@ing douche. Why can't iTunes let me do this simple task? iTunes sucks my donkey sized nads.

OK here's my problem I have an Iphone 3G with 2.0.2 (this was done through Itunes) this is a first time I am attempting to Jailbreak it. The jailbreak seems to go through it no problems but when the phone boots it stays at the Apple logo. any ideas on how to fix this
