Question of the Day: Do You Use an Alarm Clock or Your Mobile Phone to Wake Up?

Posted by Sean Fallon at 7:00 AM on August 15, 2008

As my mobile phone chimed early this morning, I thought to myself in a groggy haze whether or not the majority of people out there have ditched the trusty alarm clock in favour of the mobile phone alarm. After all, we already know that the mobile phone has taken a big bite out of the wristwatch market, and it only seems logical that a similar phenomenon is occurring with alarm clocks as well. So, the question is: do you use an alarm clock, your mobile phone, or something else entirely to wake up in the morning?

Both and More.

1)Electric blanket comes on at 5 and starts to heat up my feet only
2) Clock Radio comes on at 6
3) Cellphone Alarm 1 goes off 6:30 - time to sleep in a bit
4) Cellphone Alarm 2 goes off 7:00 - time to sleep in a bit more
5) Cellphone Alarm 3 goes off 7:30 - time to get up
6) Clock Radio Buzzer goes off on at 7:45 in case I'm not of bed yet
7) by now, unless there has been a power failure i am out of bed as the electric blanket is scorching hot and burning me.

I use both. Phone goes off first - snooze.
Then the alarm clock goes off - switch off.
Finally the phone goes again & I know it's either get up or get fired.

I use the cell phone. My alarm clock has battery backup, but half the time the damn things dead, so I use the mobile (N95).

I use http://onlineclock.net

It's been working great for me for years now...set up on my computer overnight, which is far enough away from my bed that I'm forced to get up to turn the ugly alarm sound off ;)
