I signed up with Optus $59 with $7 for 16 GB handset. I signed up the contract and got my iPhone in 2 weeks, but when I see the bill. I was charged for the period of 14 days when I had not received my iPhone. I spoke to Optus head office and they have deducted that amount plus some credit for goodwill gesture as well.... And I also got $100 voucher for another phone I may purchase.... So all goooood....

I disagree.

Your paying a monthly fee for access to the optus network, not to the phone itself. If you using the sim card in another phone, you still have access to the features of the plan. If you chose to suspend the service, you have no reason to complain. Granted, if your paying a HANDSET repayment for the iphone, your entitled for a refund for that amount.

Bottom line. It's an iphone. It's popular.

September?
Far out. Thats why the stupid optus guy hasn't called me and won't return messages. He told me I would have it within 2 weeks max. It's been 3 weeks, why can't he just tell me September instead of dodging it. SO angry now. Yet I walk past vodafone stores and see "IPHONE IN STOCK" signs.
Yay, I love paying my plan and not getting the data and phone.

I ordered my iPhone and signed up for a $59 a month contract plus $7 for the 16GB,
it has now been 3 weeks and I still have not received my iPhone, when they said it would take 1-2 weeks to be delivered to their Optus store for me to pick up, and on top of that they charged me twice the price for the first monthly bill when I haven't even got the phone!

Not Happy!

I was lucky enough to get my iPhone on the release date.

However Optus have charged me my iPhone plan from 24th June!

They have also charged me ~ $25 for 95Mb of data downloaded over the last month even though I'm supposed to have 700Mb included!

Also my iPhone plan wasn't activated until 3pm in the afternoon so I've been charged ~ $12 for 825kb of data which I used in the morning as I walked out the Optus shop!

*Calls ACCC*
