The NetShare App is back up on the iTunes App Store, only about 13 hours after it was unceremoniously pulled and replaced with a "not available in the US Store" message. What's the deal here? Was it approved, then unapproved, then approved again? Oddness. [App Store - Thanks Brenden!]
That would make it approved, unapproved, approved and finally unapproved. This time however, it no longer shows up in searches at all.

An Australian phone company's techie told me they do not support tethering for the iPhone (i.e. connecting a laptop to the internet via 3G phone) but it is not prohibited under the TOS. So Netsahre would be very useful in Australia. However it is not listed in the local iTunes store. How can we make it so?

There's very little information on this app - does it connect to PC via Bluetooth? Does it work with XP/Vista? Anyone actually get it to work?
You can also go to this page on Safari on the iPhone and hit the link to the App Store at the bottom of the article - it takes you to the NetShare page.
But I keep getting an "authorization failed" error when trying to download and install.
It travelled through time. 13 hours into the future.

@justinpe: The limit is there so you don't abuse the network; unofficially it's a soft limit on the Laptop Connect which means they don't really say anything unless you start using it a lot. They have the "cap" so they can kick you off if you abuse the network and slow everyone else down.
Don't forget, this laptop service is for business people who can check emails, view the news, IM--it's not for downloading big files; I only used 700MB last month; I go home to download my big files because quite frankly AT&T 3G isn't that fast, not mention they have poor latency.
I suppose they call it unlimited because it would be nearly impossible to consume 5GB of data (this is the limit I believe) on just your iPhone. Kinda like an all you can eat buffet. No one can eat an unlimited amount of food.
On the tethering plans though, ATT includes the 5GB cap in the description of the service because it would be easy to consume 5GB of data while tethering to your laptop.
What I don't understand is why the limits are the same for both the tethering and regular data plan. You pay twice as much so you can access the internet on a laptop, but you don't get any more data?

Just got this working on XP. I had to install the FoxyProxy add-on for Firefox. I hard coded the IP address settings for my wireless connection on my iPhone - and removed the default gateway IP address for that connection. The phone then switched to 3G for outbound connections. Next, I opened the NetShare app. Then I configured the FoxyProxy add-on to use a SOCKS proxy of my iPhone wireless IP for all URLs. I went to www.ipchicken.com and verified I was now routing through my phone.
Kind of a pain in the ass - but not too bad.
