iPosture Will De-Quasimodo Your Sorry Self
Posted by Mark Wilson at 2:30 AM on August 19, 2008
It's probably too late to remedy our self-induced scoliosis, but the iPosture looks promising all the same. It's a 1-inch button that can attach to a variety of garments (like a bra strap or even a necklace) and vibrates when your posture succumbs to the heavy weight of gravity/your underwhelming life. Then you pull back your shoulders and straighten your back until you start to slouch and the cycle repeats. Not a bad idea, but we'd need a painful electroshock component to ever take the thing that seriously enough. [iPosture via Ubergizmo]

@Kaiser-Machead's WALL-E fetish: Or someone who can fix your subluxations for 75 dollars a visit.

@Vibhorsir: Especially when you can pay some bum to smack you in the spine with a broom handle for a mere sandwich.

This actually looks pretty good for people like me who need to be reminded constantly to straighten up our backs. The only turn off is that it's 100 dollars.

I watched something on TV last night on BBC America about large breasts and learned why ill fitting bras can affect your posture and cause pain. Not that I need to know this, b/c I don't have enough to require support.

@Kaiser-Machead's WALL-E fetish: Gross, now I see it attached to hairy balls. I don't want to read your mind anymore.

For some reason all I can picture is chicks with big boobs constantly vibrating...

Wow it looks like placement is everything. I can certainly see how this could improve my posture.

Can it keep me from looking down at her chest while talking to her? Who want that anyway?

@Git Em SteveDave displays attention-grabbing vanity:
i think $75.00 a visit makes this thingy a bargain, depending on how many visits you are talking about.
and i think that subluxation sounds dirty, therefore i like it.(i did look up the definition)

@whatnot22: Speaking as a "Breasted American", the women you work with would like you to maintain eye contact. If you must look, at least be discreet and do it when we are not looking. Staring at "sweater puppies" in a bar will just tag you as a "loser" in the eyes of the lady, but doing it at work will ruin your career.

but i like my bad posture, i don't sit at a real desk, i sit on a stool. the slouching comforts me.
and people that sit up straight scare me, it's like they never relax...

Earth Shoes work really well at helping you stand up straight. I got them for work, and they cut back on back pain from slouching. They aren't cheap though.

Have we all gotten so used to "i" products that no one complains about the naming anymore? Or, was that on the list of things we can't talk about in the comments section? Oh well, someone shoot me an email when iSlouch is released.

Go to a chriropractor 3 times and you will feel a difference. I also do 'touch your toes" stretches and another exercise and my posture is better.
