Guy Robs Store, Claims Only PS3 Can Save His Family

The criminal of the week award goes to a man who held up an EB Games at gunpoint and demanded a PS3. Why only a PS3 and not, you know, money? Because according to him, his family was being held hostage and the only way he could save them was with a PS3. He then followed it up by running out of the store, but not before he half-heartedly told the clerk to call 911 because his family needed help. [KSDK via PS3 Fanboy via Kotaku]

Some guy tried to pull the same stunt on me over at my job at the insulin factory... except it was an old lady. And she had a medicare card instead of a gun.

My Wii saved my marriage.
He didn't get any money out of the register?
And, Only took one PS3? He's probably off his medication and either doesn't have a family or they left along time ago.

What makes this even funnier is in the SAME shopping center there is a police station, literally when you walk out of EB you can see the station. And there is another one mile up the road...
I guess he could get better parking at EB so he chose to steal the PS3 instead of getting the cops.

What a world we live in!
I've had a string of retirees stealing hearing aid batteries. I've almost caught them several times... Asking where the hearing aid batteries are, I show them, and then get distracted by another customer. Not 2 minutes later, the old folks are out the door, an empty package is hanging on the peg, and I'm out $6.99.
