First Pics of LG Netflix Blu-ray BD300 Player
Posted by Benny Goldman at 11:26 AM on August 1, 2008
LG's Netflix-streaming, Blu-ray 2.0 playing BD300 made its public debut tonight, and we're impressed. The box is slim and it won't take up more space on your shelf than any other player. An LG exec confirmed a September launch for the sub-US$500 player, so check out the gallery and start lickin' your chops. [LG]

I am looking forward to this reaching sub-$300, and then I might consider it. It absolutely looks outstanding, and the Netflix streaming is a big bonus (because I do believe they will be upgrading the titles in the near future). Then again, if Netflix offers that feature in the PS3, then I retract my first sentence.

I have to wonder if there's any exclusive time frame with Netflix on the 360. I heard that Netflix wants to stream to everything. I would guess that PS3 would be one of those things.
The only thing that I would see stopping this from happening is Sony believing that it would cut into their own online store. But then again, it didn't stop Microsoft.

Hmm. It appears xbox fans are eagerly awaiting spending $500 on a Bluray that doesn't play games.
@Monty: It's not netflix, it's just movies and tv shows which is nice as you don't need to adjust your que with a pc connection

I agree with Monty. I think the Netflix streaming should come to the PS3... the 360 has it so, unless its a contract, I'm sure the guys at Sony could make it happen. If it didn't need to be connected to a computer like the 360 does, that would be a huge blow to Microsoft. But too radical a move... these guys depend on each other; Microsoft is probably working on the 720 or something, with Blu-ray.
