Fibre Optic Clothing is Just as Horrid as You'd Expect
Posted by Mark Wilson at 11:45 PM on August 13, 2008
Remember those green LED suits that were part of the Olympics Opening Ceremonies? They were a bit alien, but boy did the outfits create a remarkable artistic effect. Who knows? Maybe this fibre optic and LED clothing by Lumigram would be equally wondrous if worn by 2008 club-going ladies. But on its own accord, our inner fashion designer voice is whispering "pass" ever so gently. Besides, US$250 is too much to pay for any piece of clothing that exposes our navel before we lose some weight. [LumiGram via InventorSpot]

Maybe this mannequin was at a CSI crime scene?

It looks like there are two thin shoulder straps already.

@Zaxxon Q Blaque: I realize Giz has a mostly male readership, but calling women bitches isnt cool and isnt appreciated. I call flame bait.

i would totally wear that out! hell yeah! it'd be fricken fun. though it doesn't look very stable, i wouldn't mind the two over the shoulder straps instead, to prevent fall-down-age.
that and a shirt like that will only look good on someone with a good looking upper body, that's the sad part

There's potential here. This particular piece doesn't reach it tho.

I think this would be a great tool if fused with performance clothing. Runners and bikers wouldn't have to fear about a car hitting them during early morning times or at night if they're lit up. Sure, you have reflectors, but something that lights up is sure to catch the eye.

This is absolutely stunning.
Would love to see an actress wear this on Oscar night.
This would really be great as a bikini for those evenings at private beaches in the Hamptons or parties in Beverly Hills.
Of course, only the young and beautiful could get away with this

I can't even FIND my navel - doesn't matter at what price. It's in there somewhere, last seen shortly before I got married... It has slowly vanished over the years.
I gotta lose weight, too.

This would actually be really cool at raves and dance clubs. Slap that on some lingerie please.

Ok, can you see the ladies wearing these on the earlier mentioned glowing footprint floor? That being said, I'm down with the hot chicks sporting glow in the dark underwear. Just don't sell anything larger than a size 3. The last thing we'd want is a bunch of fat chicks sporting this stuff, unless you want to feel like you are orbiting a small moon.
