I will try this fix. I work in a big complex at the Presidio in San Francisco. I thought there was no 3G in that area, since my updated iPhone would always default to "no service" when I activated it. That is, until a security guard showed me HIS iPhone got two bars just about anyplace he went. I held my iPhone next to his, side by side, and his would get 3G, but I got 'no service'. Huh?

I've been testing this issue around The City and from what I can tell, my 3G might be busted. Not sure why, but it just cant' receive any signal.

So, on Tuesday, I head to the Apple Store on Chestnut to give them a demo of my woes.

Other than that, I love this darn thing. Use it constantly.

The tone of this article tells me that the author (Mark Wilson) is (and I hate to say it because it's like calling someone a witch or a heretic)... an Apple fanboy - offended by Adam Frucci's "brilliant" piece (which I completely agreed with).

And yeah - this definitely isn't a "fix". It's a temporary workaround at best.
