A Man-Sized Guitar Hero Portable
Posted by Mark Wilson at 2:30 AM on August 21, 2008
No offence to the Nintendo DS version of Guitar Hero, but when I'm pretending to be Mick Mars the last thing I need is to be fumbling around with some tiny gaming handheld. One modder has felt my pain and hacked a wireless PS2 guitar to integrate with Guitar Hero: On Tour and allow full-out faux instrumental jamming.
The PS2 guitar was gutted of its electronics and hot wired to the DS controller. Plus, an FM transmitter was added as well so the game's music could stream through a home stereo, not just the puny speakers packaged in the DS. And from the looks of this video, it actually works. I thought the ds creation by nintendo would suck but i tried it in a store and it wasnt so bad. That kind of looks like a pain to look at the screen, and if you want to play real guitar hero just get a real system. Creative though, I still give props to the modder.

this is pretty awesome, good job by the modder.
nintendo should of came up with a similar controller adapter for ds, it makes it more appealing to get

As if it wasn't bad enough walking around downtown with a a mini-guitar hero game, now I can go for a stroll and REALLY get all the odd looks I've been wanting! Very awesome mod though.

Maybe this would make that little I saw walking around the airport with a guitar hero controller strapped around him actually make sense.
PS- He was on my plane and it was his carry on.
