@PlasmaMachine: That's the case when upgrading ANY firmware. The backup is just a small file with settings (mail accounts, wifi, etc.). I'm pretty sure it will work just like any other upgrade.

@PlasmaMachine: There's a discussion about that on the macrumorsDOTcom forums, but I've got bad news.
The iPod Touch can't be upgraded with the floating pre-released version of FW 2.0. Most likely due to the fact that Apple will be selling the iPod Touch FW 2.0 update for $10. That and it is completely different FW because the iPod Touch doesn't have Bluetooth, Speaker, Mic, Camera.
Also, the upgrade process takes about 15 min, it never asked me if I wanted to back anything up. It simply synced from my last sync, July 9th @ 17:30.

So, a guy at the ATT store I went to bought a white 3G. Handed it to his girlfriend to look at (I assume girlfriend, they were kissing earlier, no ring). She dropped it! Busted it.

So, he picks it up shaking his head and walk off to find someone leaving her there crying. She was very upset. The sad part is, she was obviously upset FOR HIM (most likely not the phone) but then he obviously didn't give a crap about her.

Poor gal.... Are you reading this jerk-o? You know who you are in SoCal!!!! Just so you know, everyone that saw your spectacle thinks you're a douche!

The white is fantastic. I grabbed one at my local ATT store and I love it. I was close to first in line. The white shows ZERO fingerprints on the back. The black does.

The phone would look really dumb with a white front. There would be too much glare while outside in the sun.

My wife actually has the black one, and I have the white because it looks far better comparing the two in your hand.
