Video: Girl Cheats Claw Game In Creative Way
Posted by Matt Hickey at 9:32 AM on July 15, 2008
Either this little girl is very ballsy or very, very dumb, but I have to give her credit for just going for it. Not content to be ripped off by one of those claw game scams, she just went for it, climbed up into the machine somehow, and picked her trophy. But the fun comes when a little boy—presumably her brother—goes to get his mum, and then the crowds come. I totally wish this had audio.

You could have skipped calling the girl dumb considering she's what.. 2?

Why didn't they cut a hole in the glass. Also I think its possible for the mother to sue the company that made the machine for negligence. Great Video and I also wish it had audio.

Oh Wow... I so think that girl is SMART and definitely a creative thinker! And I hope she got a few toys out of that :) Mind you... what would I think if it was MY kid???

Chooky707 you are the problem with society these days, always looking to sue someone for anything. I bet you're the type of person that we see on cameras throwing themselves down some stairs at a casino to see what they can get.

I think they forgot to put the part when the mom goes running for a bag full of quarters so she can get her daughter out of there but she FAILED so his license to be a mom.

hmmm....look at 1:59 the kid is there than magically no in the glass and being yanked on, either they cut it for time, or it's a fake. just sayin, looks real though. probabky cut because it took an hour and a half to get the kid out while she played in there like ET did in the closet of "stuffies"
LOL
And yes, PARENTING should be required in malls, this is why you don't let your monsters run wild in public.
What if that were a real crane? LOL, ok, bad/dumb joke.

I wouldn't say "Either this little girl is very ballsy or very, very dumb," Kids are just curious and don't know better at certain ages, hell I was a little monster at that age being a triplet (poor mom). I don't think she knows how exactly to be "balsy" or how "dumb" her actions may be, but nonetheless it's funny and kinda scary too. I'll be these things get banned soon or removed from stores and malls all together etc.. There have been a few recent "happenings" like this and It's just screaming "Trap Door" lawsuit for any sue-happy parent who can't keep an eye on their kids.

The good news is that the kid is unlikely to do anything like that again. Judging by the (neglectful) mother, the kid has maybe 6 months before her ass is too fat to fit. :P

You must not have a kid or remember when you were that age all the crap you got into. They all do that when they are that age. They are just very inquisitive. My son climbed up on the lotto counter and took about 200 tickets out of the rolly bin and jut dragged them through the gas station parking lot like toilet paper. Another time he decided to tie to cars together in the parking lot and shove about 4 pounds of dirt into their tail pipes. Our neighbors kid who lives next to the mayor pooped on his doorstep (she is 5) because his mom said she wished someone would shit on his face.

The Kid was also ahead of the parents about 23 seconds, and THEN, they walk right past her, do they not keep tabs on their kids? Especially in a MALL where predators could be anywhere? They walked right past her feet in the machine for Pete's sake.
LAME PARENTS!!!! probably chugging down Ice cream not paying a damn bit of attention to squat! Not a huge fan of screaming kids usually, and most certainly it's the damn parents, clearly the case here.

Getting the keys? You realise that jsut about all those vending machines you see in places aren't owned by the stores, but rather are serviced by some guy who gets permission to put them there and then comes by once a week or month to restock them. The store wouldn't have the keys.

As stuff full that machine was, it's amazing it actually worked. Typically they don't take the stuffed animals up that high.
She probably messed up the packing too. A good packer will make it where the more expensive ones are held in until all the lesser ones around it are gone.

That's no kid! She's actually a very petite 23 year old contortionist. She's just a decoy. There's a couple of spots where 20 or so seconds are missing. That's when the accomplices were going out the door with the shopping carts of cash and "free" HDTVs. The store cut those parts to avoid the embarrassment

I saw a little kid do this at Chucky Cheese, but it was the hoop shoot game. The kid was only like 3, so obviously he couldn't shoot the ball the far, so he just crawls up the ball return into the game and starts making lay-ups. It took his parents 20 minutes to coax him back out.

@Erzengel:
I once saw/read something that said you can set them for how often they're _capable_ of grasping a prize (every other time they'll just let it slip out of their grip, even if you aim perfectly). Then you have to pick a prize that's even grabable (note that most of the primo prizes are set out of reach, either too close to the wall or too low in the bin), _and_ manouver the claw correctly. Plus I'm sure there's probably still an element of luck involved at that point.

Hey, what's the problem? She didn't get hurt, has a story to tell for the rest of her life (and video proof that it happened!) and her older brother was too big to do it. Only thing she forgot was to bring out a toy.
I don't see the parents as being bad parents (my daughter used to do similar stuff when she was three). you can't watch the kids every second. Her brother kept the parents from leaving her in the store, and even tried to tell mom where she was.
Life's too short. I say good on the little girl for having an adventure.

You can't simply use the "they are inquisitive" excuse for horrible parenting kids with absolutely no sense of discipline. Kids will only do what they know or at least think they can get away with. The things you mentioned your own kid doing are bad enough but this girl completely ignored her mom's commands to come out and just pressed on futher inside the machine to effectively loot it. Im sure the fact that the mom is rockin' a full chick mullet doesn't help matters either.

GeekyNerdGuy

I'm not even sure those were her parents. I think the other kid just decided to narc the girl out to her own parents who happen to be shifty grifter types. Then they saw her up in that machine, thought talent like that could come in handy, and decided to steal her.
For all we know, that little girl may have been living in the machine for weeks -- each night making a bed under the protective cover of all those plush prizes.

This is actually from a resturaunt that I have been to many times. It is the Catawba Fish Camp in Chester SC. If you go to their site www.catawbafishcamp.com and click on the candy counter button you can see the machine in one of the pics of the slideshow (there is a man standing in front of it) This story has made it around our town recently, and I was shocked to see it here. It is funny, but I agree with Griffehpoo, my Dad would have beat my ass for doing something so stupid. I am glad the little girl didn't get stuck, though. Just thought I would chime in to let everyone know that this is real, and it really happened.
