Song Summoner is Square Enix's Song-Based RPG

Square Enix has just made an iPod--not iPhone--game called Song Summoner that takes the songs stored in your library and makes soldiers out of them. The gameplay is very much Final Fantasy Tactics, which is turn-based, and you control your guys with the click wheel. Out today at US$4.99 for RPG and music fans everywhere. WOW is all i have to say... works by BPM??? HOW WOULD THIS WORK... what if I did a Prince track... would it give me the typical hetero-metro sexuals that square constantly gives us in their games???

They probably started putting this together a while ago. Probably before the SDK was announced. Updating it for the iPhone's higher resolution and different system isn't a trivial task. Give it a couple months and I bet it will show up on the iPhone.
Which makes me that much more pissed of at Rogers. Can't afford the Canadian iPhone plans. Now I'm seriously looking at the HTC Diamond. Stupid Rogers.

@endless: He's actually a Final Boss with several forms. (It IS SE after all).
The Event is Called Prince and The Revolution
He'd be just Prince to start with, his class would be "The Time" Mage, He'd summon Morris Day and the Time, and the battle would take place in First Avenue, He casts "Slow" and "Mini." He has 1999 HP.
He'd morph into a class called "The Artist, Formerly Known as Prince," And he'd cast Purple Rain over and over and over again to remind people of wierder times. He's allied with Batman.
After nearly KO'ing him into the form of simply "The Artist," a mysterious glyph hovers above him as he changes into his most powerful form "The Love Symbol". His guitar hits for 9999 and casts velvet damage.
You then get him as a playable character with the ability "Working up a Black Sweat." His name is once again Prince, but his HP is back to "3121" and He is a Geomancer who casts "Planet Earth"
It's important to know that he has a slew of attacks, but most get withdrawn before they get cast!
