@waterdrop: Then that would mean going back to plastic. The iPod already had a translucent layer over the panel to create a sort of doubleshot effect, though it wasn't a contrasting color, but it was already there. Whatever they do will probably involve the aluminum.

@Aoi: I'd say that adding too many colors would end up in a lot of units that aren't moving, simply because the color ends up being unpopular.

Multicolor sounds closed-mailbox to me (thanks Chromeo!) It should have the galaxy effect paint like the TVR Tuscan used to have.

I like how they look now, adding more colors isn't going to make them anymore popular. I don't think I've ever talked to anyone who didn't want an ipod because they couldn't get it in both red and black.

somewhat relevant but had to share, i was just looking out my office window and a girl on a bicycle rididng by just crashed because she was paying more attention to her iPod. i dont think she fully appreciated my concern for her well being through my fits of laughter. oh yea, her iPod was blue. it was just too coincidental not to post.

The Nano's support for Nike plus (and its inherent gym/exercise audience) means that this device needs to either continue to support tactile input or go the bluetooth route and deflect the controls to the headset. Colors and innovative design are always welcome additions.
