Moron Lies Down on Moving Motorcycle to Send Text Messages
Posted by Sean Fallon at 6:00 AM on July 14, 2008
If laws about driving and using mobile phones in American cities are cramping your style, move to scenic India where anything goes! Watch in horror as this lunatic barrels down the highways of New Delhi sending text messages. Hey, why stop there? Yeah, go on and take that nap. Your fellow motorists will love it and the police...haha what police? [Geekologie]

Has anyone actually been a passenger in a car driven by a person from India? They drive like this even when no one else on the road is. Even if everyone else is going the speed limit and have the perfect distance held between them, he still drives like this. Then complains about how everyone else is driving!!!

I was watching a program presented by Jeremy Clarkson, once, called "Motorworld," in which Jeremy went around the world and had a look at the motoring culture in various countries. The Hindu people in India believe in reincarnation, so if you die on the road, it was just your time, but no worries, since you'll come back as something else.

umm.. in most other countries, especially where there are more cars on the roads/multiple lane roads, driving is more of an art, people don't use signals they just let each other in. They also merge and follow about 2' away at 75-85mph on the highway, it's just the way they drive, it's kind of unnerving at first but you get used to it.

it's no wonder that india has one of the highest traffic fatalities rates in the world!
and lets not forget all the people surviving crashes and losing an extremity or the use of all extremities!!!
the cost of not enforcing traffic laws to society is exorbitantly high!!! india, china and other emerging countries have huge problem, but china is trying to get a hold of things with very tough enforcement, but old habits are hard to beat, or should i say no habits???
the guy in the video has not even his helmet strap closed... if he falls the helmet will break his neck...!!! what an idiot... even though he seems to be a good driver with a talent for the artistic, the main cause of crashes with motorcycles is the other guy, mainly cars, that are no aware of the hard to see motorcycles...!!!
if he keeps this up he won't see retirement, at least not in one piece....

I'm a motorcyclist myself, and I've hardly ever seen a motorcycle with cruise control. I do know that the Gold Wings can come equipped with it, but that's about it.

Only the big touring bikes have 'cruise control,' as in electronically set constant speeds. A little bike like that would likely have a 'throttle lock,' which is exactly what it sounds like- you set the throttle and then lock it down with a lever. It's very simple, a $10 piece of plastic with a screw to set the tension.

No, his right foot (throttle) is nowhere near the hand throttle, he probably has a cruise control which they do offer for bikes that allows you to lock the "rev throttle" at any given speed, just rev to the necessary speed and lock down a switch that holds it. Crazy all the same. Funny too though.

@x0mrgrinch0x: That's probably true, but I think your limiting yourself to be seen as racist. Instead I'd just rather say that the majority of people on the road in any country including the US don't know how to drive safely. After all it does kill more people than pretty much anything else you could do, probably have a better chance dying in a traffic accident than in Iraq.
Oh, and by the way what is so challenging about using a fucking turn single? No matter where I go, nobody seems to know how to use a blinker. -_-

I'm originally from Pakistan and anytime I go back to Karachi driving there is exactly the same, very few laws, you kinda manage your own defensive/offensive strategies. The other thing is the speeds don't even come close to the speeds they have here in the US so people can afford to dodge in/out with only inches to spare. It's incredibly uncommon though for any car to not have a few scrapes on its sides but it's still hella fun driving there compared to driving here.
Feels almost zombie-like when you come back from driving in such a mad situation.

@EVERYONE: I can totally tell (judging from this thread) that most haven't driven in another country. It can be f#@king insane. Southern Mexico (Chiapas), hands down...totally anarchy + absolutely stupid maneuvers on steep mountain passes. I've heard China is worse, but I don't intend on finding out. I guess the Sunset District of San Francisco might be a indicator of that mayhem. Either way, this guy is a douche bag.
